Wholesale ISP Connectivity & IP Transit

We are seeking an experienced Sales Development Manager with a proven background in selling wholesale ISP connectivity, IP transit, and Layer 2/Layer 3 network services. The ideal candidate has strong existing relationships within the ISP, WISP, carrier, or telecommunications markets and understands how to drive commercial growth through technical-led solutions. Roles in this space typically require B2B ISP sales expertise and the ability to manage strategic ISP accounts.
This is a high-impact position suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, solutions-driven environment and can translate complex network offerings into clear business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth across wholesale ISP and carrier segments through proactive sales strategies.
- Identify, engage, and grow relationships with ISPs, WISPs, FNOs, carriers, and ICT providers.
- Sell a portfolio of services including:
- IP Transit
- Layer 2/3 connectivity
- Backhaul
- Peering-enhanced transit
- High-capacity fibre services
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing complex contracts.
- Conduct consultative sales discussions to understand customer requirements and propose optimal technical and commercial solutions.
- Work closely with network engineering and operations teams to ensure feasibility, pricing, and successful delivery of services.
- Represent the company at industry events, data centres, IXPs, and partner meetings. Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction, ensuring long-term retention and repeat business.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3–8 years experience in B2B ICT or telecommunications sales, preferably in:
- ISP wholesale
- IP transit
- Carrier connectivity
- Strong understanding of:
- Layer 2/3 network technologies
- Routing fundamentals
- Peering and interconnect ecosystems (NAPAfrica, LINX, DE-CIX, AMS-IX)
- Peering knowledge is industry-relevant for wholesale network sales.
- Existing network of contacts within ISP, WISP, or telecom markets.
- Ability to translate technical network capabilities into clear commercial value. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently in a target-driven environment.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience selling services such as datacentre interconnect, long-haul transit, metro fibre, or colocation.
- Familiarity with wholesale ISP pricing models, SLAs, and capacity planning.
- Exposure to Africa-wide telecom or carrier markets.
